Long and the Short of it:  The CPB 2000 Summer Summary


We monitored the location of immigrating overwintered CPB to an 80 x 100 m field.

A daily survey was made to search for new adult recruits, and the spatial coordinates of their first sighting in the field determined with a Trimble ProXRS.

6,342 CPB immigrants were observed at 5,384 unique locations within the field (Fig. 1).

Sampling dates were 3 to 29 June (Fig. 2). 

The distance of first observation to the nearest field edge decayed exponentially from the field edge (Fig. 3).
