November 2000 Mali expedition
From 30 October to 29 November 2000 I joined friends Don and Kristie de Mackiewicz in Mali (western Africa).  We first met at PSU, but Don and Kristie Demackiewicz are now in the Peace Corps and stationed in Mali.
To share a little geography with you I have 'borrowed' a map from the Malian Embassy's (Washington, D.C.) web site which shows Mali's position on the African continent. 

In addition to his primary duties Don has been cooperating with a local biodiversity reserve (Bafing).  So one of our objectives was to spend time with them and assist if possible in assessment of their insect fauna.
